The Chronicle of the Horse welcomes timely results of all horse shows (hunter, jumper and hunt seat equitation divisions), combined training events, dressage shows, combined driving events, endurance rides and sport horse breeding shows. There is no charge for publication. We do, however, have specific criteria for submitting results:

Results must be received within two weeks of the show’s closing date. They may be emailed to: results@chronofhorse.com. We do not accept results by physical mail.

Word, Excel and tab delimited text are all acceptable. We no longer accept .csv files. All results submitted by email MUST contain within the text of the email the name of the event, the dates of the event and the location. It is helpful if the subject of your email also contains the name of the event.

Results must be typed. Illegible photocopies, handwritten or faxed results will not be accepted for publication. Do not send marked prize lists or results consisting of numbers only.

Results must be complete. Include the show name, date, location (city/state) and judges. First three placings may be listed for all results. Each division and class must be listed individually.

Hunter/Jumper Results: List all horses’ and owners’ names for each class. Champions and reserves should be listed separately. Results giving horses’ names only in the class results will be rejected.

Equitation and Medal Classes Results: Results must include the riders’ names.

USHJA International Hunter Derby Results: List horses’ and riders’ names for the class. List first- and second-round scores with separated bonus points from each for each panel of judges. Please also send judges’ names, panels and total number of competitors. 

Dressage and Eventing Results: List all horses’ and riders’ names and the scores for each class. Champions and reserves should be listed separately and should also show the horses’ and owners’ names.  Results from CDI and CCI classes should give full detailed results with all scores and placings.

If using the Fox Village dressage show management software, the report titled “rptScoreReportMedia.rtf” is the preferred format.  Classes with missing placings will be excluded.  Multiple placings under a single class must give divisions.

List the contact person or show secretary. Include a name, address, telephone number (Mon.-Fri. 9-5) and email.

If sending photos with summaries, photos must be taken at the featured show, preferably by the show photographer. Only photos of show champions, eventing division winners, dressage or driving class winners will be considered for publication. Photos must be sharp with good contrast. No awards shots. Identify the show, horse, owner, rider, photographer and the championship. Photos must be received within 10 days of the end of the show.  Digital photos should be 300 dpi and 4″x6″ in size.
