Wentworth Withdraws From Rolex Kentucky CCI**** Due To Pregnancy

Jolie Wentworth, of Crockett, Calif., announced April 15 that she is expecting her first child in late September, and she will withdraw from competition in the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** event.

Wentworth, who was set to compete Tracy Bowman’s Goodknight April 23-27 in Lexington, knows how hard it can be getting to Rolex or any four-star. However, after doctors termed her pregnancy high-risk earlier this week, she feels it is in the best interest of her situation to withdraw from Rolex.

“My husband David and I are thrilled to become first time parents, and although I am disappointed to not be taking Goodknight to Rolex, I know that there will be other events in my equestrian career, and need to ensure the health of my baby, and myself at this time,” she said in a statement.

“ ‘Ari’ is a very special horse, and he feels better than ever right now, so not taking him to Rolex was a hard choice. In a way, I feel a bit as if I am letting him down, but I am hopeful there will be other opportunities to come for the two of us, and we will aim to return to Rolex with him in 2015,” she continued.
