It was a fairy-tale finish for Boyd Martin and Fedarman B today at the $50,000 Grand-Prix Eventing at Bruce’s Field when the pair held onto yesterday’s lead with a blazing fast and clear cross-country round to clinch an emotional victory. Martin also finished second on Tsetserleg.
“Sometimes fairy tales don’t work like this, but this one is unbelievable,” said Phillip Dutton in his commentary on the event livestream.
Fedarman B, or “Bruno,” was developed by Annie Goodwin, who was killed in a cross-country schooling accident in July 2021. Martin and his wife Silva trained Goodwin, and he took over the ride with the family’s blessing.
