The United States Equestrian Team Foundation has launched its new U.S. Equestrian Team Registry. With the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro now less than a year away, the U.S. Equestrian Team athletes need assistance to prepare for the Games.

The campaign, called the U.S. Equestrian Team Registry, invites donors to select a symbolic gift that represents a real athlete need, anything from a riding helmet to horse transportation or a sports psychology session. When a donor selects a symbolic gift, the cost of that item or service is used to support the U.S. Equestrian Teams on their quest for gold.

“The USET Foundation is always looking for innovative ways to get people involved and feel like part of the team,”  said two-time Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward. “I think from that point of view it’s very exciting. Support is the key to future success. Without people behind you at every level, we’re not going to continue to win on the world stage, and this registry is a vital part of that support.”

The first 25 donors to the registry will receive two tickets to the Rolex Central Park Horse Show for Sept. 25 or 26.

“It truly takes a ‘team’ to ensure our athletes and U.S. Equestrian Teams have the resources they need to achieve competitive excellence at Olympic Games and World Championships. We are really excited to present the U.S. Equestrian Team Registry, a new way for people to show their support and join the ‘team.’ ” said Bonnie Jenkins, USET Foundation executive director.
