Top young KWPN stallion UB40 continues to be recognized as a sire of both impressive young horses and stallions. Earlier this month his son Fleetwood ISF earned 1st Premium and the Dressage Foal Championship at the KWPN-NA keuring held at Iron Spring Farm in Coatesville, PA. Fleetwood ISF, out of the Goodtimes Star mare Toraya, impressed the judges with his uphill conformation and elastic and expressive gaits.
Mary Alice Malone, owner of Iron Spring Farm and Fleetwood’s breeder, says, “It’s very exciting to have a great crop of youngsters this year.”
Fleetwood wasn’t the only UB40 offspring to succeed. Flash Gordon WRF, bred by Judy Reggio, was also named 1st Premium. The colt is out of the Roemer mare Outrageous. UB40’s three-year-old daughter Covergirl SCF, bred by Carlos and Karin Jimenez and owned by Chris Preston, received her Star predicate. Also, UB40’s three-year-old son Cinco de Mayo ISF received his Star status. UB40 isn’t letting his sons and daughters get all of the accolades. The nine-year-old stallion made his Prix St. Georges debut this summer and has received scores up to 68%. He also claimed the FEI high point award at one show.
Another Iron Spring Farm stallion with successful youngsters at the KWPN-NA keuring was Sir Sinclair. His three-year-old daughter Catalina ISF was designated “Keur eligible” and named the Top Dressage Mare. Out of the Contango daughter Persimmon ISF, Catalina ISF was praised for her type, as well as her ground covering trot and balanced canter. Catalina is also a Dressage at Devon winner. Another Sir Sinclair filly, Flamenca de Sir, bred and owned by Magnolia Creek Farm, was also named 1st Premium foal.
“Sir Sinclair continues to be a very prepotent sire,” Malone explains. His babies are incredibly supple and inherit his temperament, good looks and three quality gaits.
Contango’s legend as a sire continues to grow. His son Calypso ISF received his Star status and was named Top Dressage Horse, while Citation ISF claimed first place in the DG Bar Cup for Three-Year-Olds. Both youngsters have inherited their sire’s athletic ability, as did Casanova CF, bred by Cindi McCall and owned by Lindsey M. Henderson, who won the Dressage IBOP (under saddle). “Contango was very well represented at the keuring,” Malone said of her former Grand Prix partner.

While Judgement ISF may be best known for his impressive international show jumping career, his offspring are also making a name for him as a sire. Chivas, bred and owned Dayna Gant, was named Top Jumper of the keuring while receiving a 9 for scope.
Riverman ISF also made a mark with the jumpers. His daughter Flexible Flyer HWF took home 1st Premium and the Jumper Foal Championship for breeder Julia Snyder and owner Lee Miller. Fleur de Lis, bred and owned by Katie Moriarty, was named 1st Premium in the Hunter Foal category.
