The athletes who will represent the United States at the inaugural Longines League of Nations Final on Oct. 6 have been announced.

Eight countries qualified for the Final, which will be held during the CSIO Barcelona (Spain), with the United States and the Netherlands tying for seventh place behind Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil and France. Great Britain, despite winning gold at the Paris Olympic Games, did not qualify for the Final after the season was shortened with the weather-driven cancelation of the St. Gallen (Switzerland) competition in June.

Each country has named five riders. For the U.S. those five are Lucy Davis Kennedy, Aaron Vale, Spencer Smith, Alex Matz and recent Paris Olympics team silver medalist Laura Kraut. Kennedy, Vale and Smith were all members of squad that in August won the FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Ireland CSIO5*, with Smith producing a double-clear in the Nations Cup and Vale also finishing third in the Dublin Grand Prix that weekend.
