The Chronicle of the Horse is adding to our freelance team! We’re seeking talented, experienced journalists with equestrian sports knowledge who are based in or near Wellington or Ocala, Florida, to produce articles through the winter season for the Chronicle magazine and our website, www.coth.com.

Rates range from $150 for short web articles to $500 for longer print pieces. Complicated or in-depth pieces are sometimes approved at higher rates. If you’re interested, please email Melissa Wright (mwright@coth.com) and Lisa Slade (lslade@coth.com) with links to three published articles that demonstrate your reporting and writing skills. Please do not send college essays or personal blogs as writing samples. Feel free to include any pitches you might have, but submissions without examples of previously published work will not be considered.
