After withdrawing from the Aachen CDIO***** (Germany) due to pneumonia and pleurisy that required hospitalization, Steffen Peters is back in the saddle. Both his top Grand Prix horse, Legolas 92, and his top small tour horse, Rosamunde, are based in Belgium currently.

“I rode Steffen’s horses all of last week to let him rest and try and recover from the pneumonia and pleurisy,” said Shannon Peters, Steffen’s wife and fellow Grand Prix rider, who flew from the couple’s base in San Diego to Europe when Steffen became ill. “He was able to get on both of them today, July 21, and do a light ride, and he felt pretty darn good! He’s taking it slowly but hopefully will be back up to full speed soon.”

Legolas 92 is already named to the short list for the U.S. Dressage Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (France), and they completed their one mandatory outing at the Fritzens CDI***** (Austria) earlier in the summer.
