Elmpt, Germany – February 6, 2012 – With a successful year behind him, Peter Wylde looks forward to new opportunities in 2012. In 2011 Peter celebrated many International accomplishments in Europe and the United States as a rider and trainer.
As he looks forward to 2012 he is excited about new prospective horses, his students fulfilling their goals, and new business endeavors in Europe and the U.S. The show season for his business, Mullenders and Wylde Horses GmbH, has already begun with International indoor shows in Drachten, The Netherlands and Amsterdam and will continue with the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain which will take Peter and his students through the winter months and into spring.
In 2011, Peter and his string of horses had many wins and top placings at major International shows all over Europe. As trainer for Mullenders and Wylde Horses GmbH, Peter also celebrated the successes of his students. He congratulates student Yusuf Huysal of Turkey who earned a spot on the Turkish Junior European Championship Team and helped Turkey to place fifth out of 18 teams at the 2011 European Championships in Comporto, Portugal. Student Taizo Sugitani of Japan finished well in Grand Prix competition with top results all year including a third in the Grand Prix at the prestigious CSIO Rotterdam in August and a win in the Grand Prix of Salzburg, Austria in December.
Peter also thanks his wonderful owners, without which the year would not have been possible. In 2011 Peter served as National Clinicians for USHJA’s Emerging Athletes Program. In its third year the EAP Finals featured some of the most talented young riders in the U.S. including the winner, Jacob Pope. In 2012 Peter will increase his involvement in the program as Head Clinician as well as Vice Chairman of the Committee.

With the New Year brought an official marriage between Peter and his long time partner Eduard Mullenders. The two were married in Germany on the sixth of January and their marriage is recognized in Germany, the Netherlands, and the state of Massachusetts. Engaging their personal interests, Peter and Eduard also became proprietors of a new Art and Antique Gallery called Galerie Bondurant located in the small historic city of Roermond, The Netherlands.

Originally from Medfield, MA, Peter Wylde is an international show jumper best known for his Team Gold Medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece as well as his Individual Bronze Medal at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain in 2002. He is also most proud of his horse Fein Cera who won Best Horse in the Final at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.
Peter has represented the United States Equestrian Team on many occasions including the 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2008 World Cup Finals. In 1999 he also won Team and Individual Silver medals at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada. After a very successful year in 2008 Peter decided to take a brief hiatus from his career, but has since returned to the international scene with great success.
Peter Wylde and his partner Eduard Mullenders run their business Mullender and Wylde Horses GmbH from their stable in Elmpt, Germany, just outside of Dusseldorf. While he continues showing internationally he has also welcomed many students into his stable. Peter has also made it a priority to focus on the upcoming generation of U.S. show jumping riders, doing so through USHJA’s Emerging Athletes Program, for which he is the Head Clinician and Vice Chairman of the Committee.
