Four-star eventers Doug Payne, 32, and Jessica Hampf, 29, were married on March 15 at the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, in Greensboro, Ga.
After getting engaged in August of 2013, the couple had to plan around busy schedules and splitting the year between their farm in New Hill, N.C., and their winter base in Aiken, S.C.
“A lot of our closest friends don’t live geographically near us in general, except for this time of year,” said Payne.

After their initial guest list tallied close to 700 guests, the couple decided to only include family and very friends at the intimate ceremony. The next day they held a much larger reception in Aiken, S.C., where they “had a whole hell of a lot of fun,” said Payne.
“I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing weekend!” said Hampf, who competes for Canada and plans to take Payne as her last name from here on out. “Both Doug and I are so thankful all of our friends and family were able to join us.”
