What is the OnlyJumpers.com New York Auction all about?
The New York auction is a free event that anyone can attend. The party on Saturday starts at 6 p.m. with free drinks, and the auction begins at 7 p.m. in the indoor arena at Old Salem Farm. On Friday, September 14, there will be a presentation of all of the young jumpers at the Hunter Arena at Old Salem Farm so that everyone can see the horses’ talent jumping under saddle. The horses will be shown by international riders Hillary Dobbs, Peter Leone, and Hanno Ellerman. The presentation will be at 5 p.m. following the $50,000 American Gold Cup Qualifier. Both Friday’s presentation and Saturday’s auction will also be streamed live online.
Only one hour’s drive from Saugerties and New York City, the OnlyJumpers.com New York auction will be held at the beautiful Old Salem Farm during the American Gold Cup. OnlyJumpers.com is proud to host their New York Auction at the American Gold Cup, a fantastic horse show that features the $200,000 American Gold Cup Grand Prix, CSI-W, in a beautiful grass field with all the highlights of a traditional show. With show jumping’s current stars in the ring and it’s future stars at the OnlyJumpers.com auction, visitors will see an amazing range of horses in the United States.

Where do the horses come from?
The auction will feature 16 young jumpers (Don Uno and Caesar are new additions to the auction that are not in the catalog), most of them just shipped over from Holland. All of the youngsters have impeccable breeding and come from the best breeders in Holland. One breeder is Team Nijhof, who is recognized as one of the top breeders in the world and home to legendary stallions like Voltaire, Heartbreaker, Concorde, Clinton, Lord Z, Eldorado, Burgraaff, and Verdi. Team Nijhof will be at the New York auction to provide information on their horses. Other breeders sending top prospects to the New York Auction are Kees van den Oetelaar, Egbert Schep, Hans Dings, and Joan Van Gorkum.

Graffiti van den Bisschop (Palio) – 2006 BWP stallion, Darco x Lys De Darmen
Olympic silver medalist Peter Leone piloted Graffiti (shown as Palio) this year as a successful Six Year Old Young Jumper.
Graffiti has proven himself as a spectacular jumper and has unlimited potential in breeding as well. Graffiti is an approved stallion in the Anglo European Studbook. In his short time in the U.S., Graffiti has had dozens of placings in the Six Year Old Young Jumpers, 1.30m, and 1.40m Jumper classes at the FTI WEF, Garden State, Old Salem, HITS Saugerties, and Lake Placid. Just this past week, they won a Six Year Old Young Jumper Finals class. Graffiti, according to Peter, is a real prospect for International Grand Prix show jumping.

Didam is a striking stallion, with outstanding movements, top character, and great jumping skills. His pedigree suggests his potential as an international show jumper as well as a top breeding stallion. Didam comes from four generations of top show jumper producers: Quidam de Revel x Carthago Z x Stakkato x Grannus.
Duke – 2008 KWPN gelding, Verdi x Silverstone
Duke is a son of Verdi, who won an Olympic silver medal at the London Olympic Games. He is an unbelievable prospect that stands out for his jumping technique and his scope. His athletic abilities make every jump seem easy. Duke inherited his talents not just from his Olympic sire, but also from the wonderful family he belongs to. In his pedigree is Quidam de Revel, Jalisco, Landgraf, Silverstone, and Champion du Lys. Verdi is for sure an international jumper prospect for the future.

Don Uno – 2008 KWPN gelding, Numero Uno x Goodtimes
Don Uno is one of the most athletic sons of super star stallion Numero Uno. He is a very careful and powerful horse, with a great jumping technique. He is a beautiful looking horse that will be hard to beat in the hunter and jumper classes. He is an ideal prospect for a junior hunter rider or for a rider that wants to develop a talented grand prix prospect.
Caesar – 2007 KWPN gelding, Rascin x Indoctro
Caesar is a very powerful and willing jumper that will be ready to jump the 6 year old jumper classes this winter. He posses the qualities of his sire and dam sire, Rascin and Indoctro; Caesar has a fantastic canter, he is very careful and has lots of scope for the big classes.
