Mary Rivas Wins Rider Wellness Award During Week Eight Of WEF

Mary Rivas, of Billington Farm in New York, rode Cut To The Chase in the schooling jumpers at the 2012 Winter Equestrian Festival, and during the eighth week of the prestigious show Rivas also rode away with The Wellington Institute Rider Wellness Award. Sponsored by the Wellington Institute, a wellness center dedicated to providing custom anti-aging medicine designed to help equestrian athletes increase their quality of life and competitive edge, the Rider Wellness Award is being awarded throughout the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Mary Rivas, of Billington Farm in New York, rode Cut To The Chase in the schooling jumpers at the 2012 Winter Equestrian Festival, and during the eighth week of the prestigious show Rivas also rode away with The Wellington Institute Rider Wellness Award. Rivas, a professional trainer, has 12 horses at WEF and said she was thrilled to win the Rider Wellness Award. “I had a great ride on Cut To The Chase and was very happy with how he went at the show,” she said. “I was also very honored to win the Wellness Award. I am really looking forward to using the products from The Wellington Institute.” 

Rivas said she started riding as a child, thanks to the influence of her mother. “My mom took me to the stable when I was six years old and that was it,” she said. “I rode as a junior rider and throughout college, before coming a professional.”
