Jessica Phoenix Welcomes Second Child

Canadian eventer Jessica Phoenix and her husband Joel announced the birth of their daughter Jordan Marie Phoenix on Feb. 20. Jordan was born at 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

“I think we are so blessed and thankful that she had a good and easy birth, and we’re really looking forward to watching her grow,” said Jessica.

“I think we are so blessed and thankful that she had a good and easy birth, and we’re really looking forward to watching her grow,” said Jessica.

Jessica, 31, was individual gold and team silver medalist at the 2011 Pan-American Games (Mexico) with Pavarotti. She was also named to the Canadian teams at the London Olympic Games in 2012, the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (Ky.) and the 2014 World Games (France).

The family is in Florida for the winter season, but they returned to Canada the week before Jordan’s birth and will head back south once her birth certificate and passport are finalized. Jessica’s goal is to be named to the Canadian eventing team for the Pan-American Games in Toronto later this year.

Jessica and Joel’s son Jacob, 4, is thrilled to have a younger sister.

“He loves showing her to new people; he’s in love with her, so it’s great,” Jessica said.
