International dressage rider George Williams will enter the arena for a new sponsor—he’s partnered with Elizabeth (Betsy) Juliano to ride and train for her Havensafe Farm in Middlefield, Ohio, and Wellington, Fla.

Williams earned international accolades aboard Charles and Joann Smith’s Rocher. However, last month the Smiths announced the 18-year-old Westphalian mare’s retirement, and they decided to bow out of high performance dressage as well.

Williams has coached Juliano for several years, and he will continue to do so, as well as riding and showing some of her talented prospects. “I was drawn to George because of his soft, sympathetic riding style and classical background,” said Juliano.

Williams is also launching Williams Dressage LLC, a dressage training, coaching and riding venture.

“Betsy has several wonderful horses in her stable, and I am thrilled to have this chance to pursue this endeavor,” said Williams. “At the same time, I am pleased that my family and I will have the opportunity to develop our own business, working together coaching and training students. Our new venture will allow us to maintain our involvement in giving back to the sport that has provided us with so much enjoyment and is so much a part of our lives.”
