Two cases of Equine Herpes Virus, also known as neurologic rhinopneumonitis or EHV-1, have been reported in Oregon, and five horses in the state of Washington have shown clinical symptoms of the disease as of Aug. 7, according to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
“All of these horses attended the same weekend show in Oregon in July [the Country Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., on July 11-15], a few days before exhibiting signs of the disease,” said an Oregon Department of Agriculture press release.
