Fédération Equestre Internationale officials announced on Aug. 24 that the FEI Bureau has decided to allow Great Britain and Belgium, the two teams that were tied for ninth place in the Meydan FEI Nations Cup series, to remain in the top league next season.

According to the Nations Cup rules, the two teams with the fewest number of points in the league are relegated to the promotional league, and the winner of that league moves into the top league. But due to difficulties in deciphering the rules regarding breaking ties, FEI officials have decided to allow Great Britain and Belgium to remain in the 2010 Meydan FEI Nations Cup League. Italy, the team that finished 10th, will be relegated to the promotional league.
