HorseShow.com donated $5,000 to help fund junior and young rider dressage teams competing during this week’s Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships in Lexington, Ky., July 27-31.

Riders were invited to submit videos of their tests to Fédération Equestre Internationale judge Natalie Lamping, and those who did received complete score cards and comments via e-mail.

The young rider team from Region 2—Jennifer Harding, Katie Foster, Victoria Retamoza, and Emily Wright—received $2,500 in funding assistance for their journey to the NAJYRC.

“We believe that having the opportunity to get a judge’s feedback on our tests just before the NAJYRC is an excellent way to help with final preparations for this prestigious competition,” said Foster. “By getting a judge’s feedback on our rides, we learn what we are doing well in the test, and what we need to improve on before we travel to a competition.”

Juniors on the Region 5 team—Taylor Lindsten, Devon Wycoff, Brook Santangelo, and Taylor Hershaft—will also receive a check for $2,500.

“At this level, one or two tenths of a point can make a huge difference. Having this opportunity to get an FEI judge’s expert critique of these juniors’ rides is invaluable, because it is then possible to make slight changes that could improve their tests,” said Chef d’Equipe Kathleen Donnelly.
