Dinan Adds New Grand Prix Horse To Her String

Show jumper Katie Dinan has purchased a new horse, Glory Days, from Swedish rider Daniel Zetterman.

Zetterman bred, raised and trained Glory Days (Cardento 933—Diamond Glory, Diamond Serpent), a 12-year-old Swedish Warmblood. Together, they competed on numerous FEI Nations Cup teams for Sweden.

Zetterman brought the gelding to Florida last year for the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, where he caught the eye of Dinan’s trainer, McLain Ward.

When Zetterman returned to Florida this year with Glory Days for sale, Dinan jumped at the chance to try him. “He’s a lot of fun. He’s a smaller build, which is nice for me, and he has a really fantastic jump,” she said. “We knew he had all the talent and ability; it was just a question of whether he was a good fit for me.”

Dinan, 19, is a freshman at Harvard University (Mass.), and she plans to start slowly with the gelding. “I’m hoping that with Glory and Nougat [du Vallet, Dinan’s current grand prix mount] I will have two wonderful horses with which to compete at the grand prix level,” she said. “I’m really thankful to have this opportunity, and I feel lucky that I can be the horse’s second rider.”
