Lexington, Ky.—April 27

The Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L field will be smaller by three horses heading into today’s show jumping competition. New Zealand’s Tim Price withdrew Jarillo—who was in sixth place—overnight, and Ema Klugman withdrew Bronte Beach, who sat 18th, after that mare sustained a heel grab in Saturday’s cross-country, according to her Facebook page.

Two horses were held at this morning’s horse inspection: Price’s Falco and Calvin Böckmann’s The Phantom Of The Opera. Price withdrew Falco before re-presenting. The Phantom Of The Opera passed when re-presented.

Twenty-three five-star horses will advance to this afternoon’s show jumping, which starts at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

In the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S, Colin Gaffney withdrew Baymax overnight. Ema Klugman’s RF Redfern was held then passed upon re-inspection. Thirty-seven horses will advance to show jumping, which begins at 10:30 a.m.
