The ASPCA Maclay Finals get underway at 6:30 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 31 for the first round of jumping. There are 153 riders on the order of go for the class, which will be run in a two-day format for the first time this year.

They’ll all jump over Round 1 on Oct. 31, and then the judges—Ralph Caristo and Chris Kappler—will bring back some of those riders for a flat phase, which will run at 8:30 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 1. After a brief break to build the Round 2 course, the judges will again narrow the field (usually to around 15 to 20 riders) for a final jumping round, scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

If the judges deem it necessary, they can call some riders back for further testing after Round 2, but that’s optional.
