The National Show Hunter Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 inductees, who will be welcomed in a May 30 celebration at the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
The NSHHOF will be honoring five equestrians and two horses, listed below:
Jenny and Kost Karazissis run Far West Farms in Calabasas, California, where they have discovered, trained and shown hunters such as Airwolfe, Two Of Hearts, Big Shot and others.
Alice Stuart was a successful amateur rider active in the 1930s, riding for powerhouse stables of her day, including the Gimbles and the Untermyers, and she competed against the likes of Gen. George Patton.
Bill Schaub, a professional for nearly 50 years, has trained some of the country’s top ponies, juniors and amateurs in recent years. Some of his top horses include Mind Games, In Writing and Rockette.

Hunt Tosh has distinguished himself as a rider by winning championships during the fall indoor circuit, Devon (Pennsylvania) and many others. Tosh has won the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships (Kentucky) three times with two different horses, and in 2022 he was earned the Emerson Burr Trophy and was honored as the USEF Equestrian of the Year.
Owned by Janet Peterson and Liza Boyd, Brunello won the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships three times, from 2013-2015. A regular winner in the high performance hunter division at shows like the National Horse Show (Kentucky), he also won the AHJF Hunter Classic Spectacular of Palm Beach (Florida), all with Boyd up.
One of the few horses to have ever scored a perfect 100, Ellen Toon’s In Disguise earned back-to-back green conformation hunter championships at Devon in 2002 and 2003 with Sachine Belle up. He also earned tricolors at the National, Capital Challenge (Maryland) and the Hampton Classic (New York), among others, and was named the Chronicle’s Show Hunter of the year in 2004.
Additionally, the NSHHOF has selected the Menlo Charity (California) as the horse show of the year and the Upperville Colt and Horse Show (Virginia) as the hunter derby of the year.
