Perhaps there's another Minnie Pearl pony out there, but I definitely remember reading a published story about a Minnie Pearl. I think it was in one of those Chicken Soup books. It was a fat, somewhat naughty pony with that exact name that carted around a little kid (the author). There was a part of the story where the author recalled hanging off the side of the pony by one stirrup and the pony just stood there grazing, waiting for the parents to rescue her. Was that you?

Another cute one was (I think) Miss Budweiser. A medium (?) shown by Dottie Grubb who had very Clydesdale-esque markings.

There was an adorable pony at the PANHS this year for hunt night (ridden by Ella Brophy) called Frisky Business. I seriously doubt I will ever forget that pony. The cuteness factor is off the charts! She was part of the winning hunt team as well!

LOL - No, I was always way too tall for ponies. It was the little girl in the stall next to me. Minnie was definitely a little bit naughty. Any chance you remember the name of the author? The girl's name was Stacey and she would most likely be in her early 30's now.

Weebiscuit is my favourite name so far! I'm late to the party, but I saw the name for the first time at Harrisburg on the weekend - thought it was a name to die for! and the pony was super cute!.

I've seen a small pony shown locally named iPod Shuffle. Adorable!

There was an Appy that showed back in the late 70's and early 80's named Tonka's Sho Me Mo... I don't know why that has stuck with me, but I've never forgotten the name.

If i smell like peppermint, I gave my horse treats.
If I smell like shampoo, I gave my horse a bath.
If I smell like manure, I tripped.

A couple of ponies come to mind. My first under 9 hand shitland Shorty was called Short Stuff. My lop earred gray large pony was Pilot of the Earways. They also thought about naming her The Flying Nun. Small dark palomino was call Killer Kornflakes. Jumper I knew was called Kiss the Sky.

I remember when I was riding in the greens, there was a She's Got Dots (obviously an appy), my pony was Stone Fox (named after a book I read in third grade that made a big impact on me), Best Foot Forward (she was born with one leg out), Double Dribble, Just A Star (one of the many infamous "star" ponies)

My favorite pony name I heard (and it was a super cute medium that was ridden in the Short Stirrup) was: "Better Than Boys"

Bittersweet's March Lion...
I liked it so much I named my Collie puppy that very name in 1972, with Bittersweet being the name of my kennel.

A local large pony was named "Almost Alpo." He was rescued right off the slaughter truck and was a saint of a teacher.
Big brown eyes and a pink pony nose looking for your affection is the best medicine.
