The photo shows a horse being led away, but the trailer is completely tipped over.

I was surprised to see it was a gooseneck not a bumper pull.

I think one of the photos may show a second horse in the backround of photo 2 of 11. I see what appears to be a green blanket and light leg wraps.

Horse looks pretty good especially since the trailer was on the side. Hope everyone is okay.

looks like the truck did a 180... look at the skidmarks in picture 9.... like maybe it got outside the offramp then whipped the whole thing around.... maybe the trailer brakes failed?

Hope all involved are ok - looks like the hitch came off the ball?? If so it could have been so much worse...

Question - when a trailer goes over like that. How the heck do you get the horses out. Somehow that trailer had to be righted - yes? and then the horses out. I'm sure the horses must be totally freaking out. If that was a slant load, are those horses effectively on their heads? I would be so terrified of having a wreck like that.

Wow, that is really scary, especially as it's a gooseneck as others have said. I'm glad the two horses are both okay, but how the heck did they get them out of the trailer?!

I suspect the trailer might have come off the ball before it went over. That would lead to it ramming off to one side and unbalancing enough to go over. It for sure would take the truck off to the side like that.
Had to be one hell of a shock for the driver when that happened.

And my ex-dh didn't understand when I flipped out after he forgot to lock the ball, and I had an itchy feeling on the back of my neck and checked about .5 mile down the road, before some super steep hills. Yikes.

I don't know how they got the horses off but there are pics of the trailer still on it's side and the horses are out. Scary!

On Equinesite someone said the rig was cut off by another driver and swerved to avoid them; GN ended up on the side.

Horses are at Tufts and appear to be fine, but are being seen by an awesome vet team.

Every time I see a trailer accident online, and the horses have been transported in another trailer, it just blows my mind that they will get in another one.

I have to wonder regarding them being cut off, if you look at the pics it looks like they were on a one lane ramp? I don't know though I don't know that area and I wasn't there so maybe I am off base with that. Regardless stuff like this scares the crud out of me and I hope humans and horses are ok.

Ugh, that is seriously the stuff of nightmares! So glad that both horses are doing well. I am also amazed that horses can go through something like that and walk right back on a trailer. They really are pretty amazing creatures! A friend of mine already jokes that I'm obsessive about checking, double checking, triple checking the hitch, doors, chains, etc...just seeing these pictures will make me even more obsessive. It's always a little scary to put an animal that size in a box that you pull around behind you.
