Has anyone ever witnessed the effect of a total solar eclipse on their horses' behaviour? In less then twelve hours there will be a solar eclipse in our area, and we will experience totality for approx. two minutes. Prime time seats in my backyard, very lucky!
Anyway, anyone know how the horses may react? Don't think my two will be bothered - the dogs, on the other hand, may get a little crazy!
While horses tend to freak out about a trash can moved over out of place by five feet in the barn aisle, I doubt they will even notice it got dark and then light again and think that is something to worry about.
Also, think that horses can see very well in the dark, as anyone that has gone in night rides can tell you.
It won't be like they go blindly bumping into things because of a two minute eclipse.
