I have seen this topic on the boards before, but I can't figure out a good key word to search. I am looking for recommendations of artists who can do artwork based on a photo of a horse/ pet. I am also wondering about price range. Thanks!

I really like Kimberly Santini's use of color and light. She does mainly dogs and cats, but has some horses and other farm animals in her repertoire as well. Her black and white animals come out especially nice (such color!!). A little bit whimsical, but very lovely.

I just purchased a painting by Jennifer Pratt. She does oils mostly. She has some really nice finessed paintings, but i really enjoy her looser brush-work in her studies (sketches and faster work).

And Sally Lancaster is amazing. The fine attention to detail and precision is just remarkable. I could stare at her work for hours in amazement!

I haven't got a clue on the prices for commissions for any of them, unfortunately. Also with the timing, it might be hard to get something done in time for christmas- so act quickly!

They were done by Colleen Beck out of Texas. The markings are very true.

We had one made for a living horse, and one for someone to remember her horse by.

We highly recommend her. And we are going to have her do a sun catcher of us when we get a picture of both of us clean at the same time. If that ever happens!

When I bought them, the prices were $45 for medium (3.25 diameter) and $50 for large (3.75-4 diameter), and some extra for glitter in the name. Plus shipping.
