Grant went into semi-retirement at 16 (3' and below that is, so regular work!), mostly because he knew the 2 of us had hit the end of our road so to speak, he officially retired with a hock injury last year at this time when he was about to turn 19. My mother has been caring for him meticulously for the past year, and my vet says he should be trail sound next year. Prior to his injury he was teaching my brother how to jump, a task which he enjoyed as much as my brother did. This year, when my brother comes home from Alaska, he'll have to ride Sam or Henry. They can do it, but they don't have the patience and know how that the old man does. The old guys are the best!
