Might be a reason, never an excuse...

Try closing whatever browser you are using, reopening and trying again. I don't mean just closing out the window. Shut the browser entirely. I have that problem sometimes with Safari, and that fixes it usually.

firefox
I recently started having trouble viewing youtube videos (they won't even start, I just get a black screen). I ended up having to download firefox and using that brower instead of IE to view videos.

Well, your first problem is you were using Internet Exploder.
@OP- I'd suggest you upgrade your flash player also if this happens to all videos.

As said above, make sure both your browser and players have the latest updates installed. FireFox will become erratic if out-of-date.

Mine says 'video not available' every video.
Arguing with trolls is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good I am at chess the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces crap on the board and strut around like it is victorious.

Laptop, wireless router. But for the past month or so Youtube demanded that I update the adobe flash, I download it and it lasts until I log off.
So frustrating.
