They brought back all the great living actors who played the roles. All the Valjeans singing together brought me to tears.
I watched this when it was on PBS. It was incredible.

I'm just thankful they didn't put Tom Cruise into any of the roles!

Seriously, it was super amazing. Wish I could have seen it in person.

The only low moment was Marius. Ugh. In a sea of voices that amazing, when you're barely passible- it sticks out like a sore thumb. But that Eponine is AMAZING amazing!

I wish Michael Ball wasn't too old to play Marius. I saw the original West End production in London back in '85 or'86 and I still think that cast was the best.

The girl who plays Eponine was on a UK reality show to win the part of Nancy in Oliver! She didn't win--came in 3rd or 4th I think. Glad she's working.

Helena Bonham Carter? And Tim Burton isn't involved in the movie?

I saw the West End production in '86 also! It was amazing! I actually preferred that one to the Broadway production. I thought the Bway show was a little too big and glossy the London show was so intimate. I think I would have loved seeing the 25th anniversary show live - it was so stripped down and really allowed the music to shine. I wish it was on now!
