CANTER (www.canterusa.org) is auctioning off a Havre de Grace halter to benefit retiring racehorses on Ebay next week. Search "Havre de Grace" on EBay.

It's funny about prices. Some stats that stood out to me... of course there are other numbers that are interesting, but these:
........................E Speed......Earnings
Name.................Figure.......Per Start.....Auction Results
Havre de Grace.....121........$161,636.......$10,000,000
Blind Luck............121..........149,069.........2,500 ,000
Zagora................120..........107,663........ .2,500,000
Switch................118............61,648....... ..4,300,000
Cute Blind Luck video I came upon while looking at stats:

Same buyer of HdG (Florida-based owner and breeder Mandy Pope) picks up another great gal - Plum Pretty, acquired for $4.2 million.
The video of last night's auction of Havre de Grace for $10M which in all honesty seems exceedingly anticlimactic despite the dollar amount. Maybe its just me.

Is $10 million the most expensive auction price for a filly or broodmare? I know some colts have sold for more but I'm not sure about a filly or mare.

HdG: third-highest price ever for broodmare at public auction
Havre de Grace becomes the third most-expensive broodmare or broodmare prospect to sell at public auction, behind Better Than Honour ($14 million at Fasig-Tipton in November 2008) and Playful Act ($10.5 million at Keeneland in November 2007).
