Terrible end to a trail ride.
I want to send some prayers out to a fellow equestrian and friend. She was hosting a cancer benefit ride tonight. While riding down the road a drunk driver, and someone she knows, hit her and her horse. She is ok and in the hospital but her horse died. I don't know details as this just happened tonight.
So sorry to hear this. This is the reason I don't ride down the roads anymore, but we are very limited with trails in our area.
Hoping for a speedy recovery to the rider and Godspeed Oak.

Unbelievably horrible. I hope the drunk gets the book thrown at him. My heart goes out to your friend. This is something that will probably be with her for a long time.

Oh my, how tragic I'm glad she is okay, Godspeed Oak.
I hope your drink drive penalties are harsh and may the driver feel the full force of the law. Being someone she knows seems to make it so much worse.
where am I, what day is it, am I still having a good time?

That is horrible. I'm so glad she is stable. So sorry about the horse.
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.
Might be a reason, never an excuse...

just looked and it is in today's (Sunday's) paper already that he is in jail. The article says 2 woman, but the other person that was injured has a man's name. Not sure who the other person is. http://www.thetimesherald.com/articl...nclick_check=1

Sending thoughts prayers and jingles for her recovery, and for the loss of her horse. Nothing I hate more than drunk drivers, my brother was killed by one. One of the stupidest things a person can decide to do. I hope he faces a VERY stiff sentence.

So sad, what a needless tragedy.i'm glad your friend is stable--does she know about her horse yet?
i cant say what i would do to someone if tundra was hurt do to their stupidity or carelessness. i would probably get in trouble for assault if i was face to face with them.
