The thumbs thing doesn't bother me at all. The number of posts on the subject is getting to ne a little much though!

Yea. I've gotten a few thumbs down and I could really care less. I have bigger fish to fry than multi-colored thumbs. I think that it will cut down on the train wrecks, and it's a good idea, honestly. My feelings don't get hurt very easily though.

Eh, it's the Special Snowflake Syndrom. Yay for the Thumbs Up, boo for the Thumbs Down.
Tell me I'm wonderful, but don't you dare tell me I posted something you might not like or agree with!

Personally I think the thumbs down doesn't necessarily mean "Wow are you an idiot!" It's also a fast way to say, "I don't agree with that" without having to type out "I don't agree with that."

Either way, a thumbs up doesn't make any of us special any more than a thumbs down makes us rotten. It's an icon on a BB. What could be less important? Don't define yourselves like that folks...it's self-defeating. Don't hand the power to hurt your feelings over to anonymous strangers. Nobody can make you feel bad but you.

I do think it will be funny watching people get thumbs down as some sort of "punishment" from non-fans though.

I am crossing my fingers that clicking "thumbs up" will cut down on the number of people who insist on quoting a long post in its entirety simply to say "This."

I have a question. I want to do a percentage but once I click on the notifications and view any new "helpful post ratings", then it seems I can't go back and view them again? I have to wait until someone rates a post to view them so I get a new notification.

    Any way around this?

Oh, I don't care about the thumbs up although I will say I always agree with the thumbs up and rarely agree with the thumbs down

I gave every post preceding mine a thumbs-up. Enjoy basking in the feel-good glow, and I can leave the thread confident that I didn't ruin anyone's day here!

I am against it just because I think its so middle school esque, but I really do not have strong feelings either way regarding whether I get a thumbs up or down. I do not take COTH as seriously as to think its a popularity contest.....

LOL!! I guess I got some little sissy in a frothy snit fit as they are spending their morning going through and searching out every single one of my posts to "thumbs down". What an ineffectual creepy little freak LOL!!

I do like them for a quick "like" or "dislike" but, as in my new little stalker freak, some people really need to get a life.

I'm pretty sure that if you are bothered by whether or not your post receives thumbs up or thumbs down then you either have way too much free time on your hands or major issues that should be dealt with before posting on COTH

Personally, I'm just traumatized that only one person liked my Burdizzo joke on the emasculating thread. http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/sh...ificant-others

I thought it was funny, Wayside. I'm just not used to using the like button here. So I liked this one instead!

I just find it odd that they're listed in one's notifications as "good" or "bad".
To me, disagreement doesn't automatically mean"bad".
