In the Summertime -- Mungo Jerry (still a great windows-down car song)
    Rings -- Cymarron
    Timothy -- The Buoys (gruesome)
DOA -- Bloodrock (also gruesome, great teen angst memories)
    96 Tears -- ? and the Mysterians

and lastly, can it be a one-hit wonder if the song never became a hit? I loved these guys (Human Switchboard) but they never caught on. Still love them.

I'm sure I could and will think of more. This was just off the top of my head.

The Small Faces weren't one-hit wonders by any stretch. They were one of the finest bands of their era with many singles in the charts. Also, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

One-hit wonders are more along the lines of this -- a great pop song that charts high, then we never hear from them again.

Although I will say this: a nice living can be made off one big hit.

    Oooh, thought of another one

    Joey -- Concrete Blonde
oh and what about (on the blonde theme)
    What's Up -- 4 Non Blondes

They're a good pair to compare and contrast -- co-dependent vs. independent lol.
