my business needs a name--help?
my dh and i care for people in my home, and we love the work.
we have experience with and can provide a home with personal support to folks with mild autism, developmental delay and/ or minor memory stuff.
we provide meals, housekeeping, transportation and note keeping for doctors' visits, medicine supervision and prompting for daily activities.
in order to grow our business we need a name so i can build a website and advertise. i was thinking i would use the farm name, but it's already taken and as it turns out we may not stay here anyway.
so how does one think up a name which is evocative of the care we provide, the rural setting and the vermont lifestyle people associate with vermont?
my dream clients are mildly intellectually disabled adult women who otherwise would not have the opportunity to have horses in their lives. obviously they must have decent funding, and the long term goal is to have enough income from their well off families to allow me to support someone without funding.
here in vermont we can have two clients per household, we have our eyes on a farm with three apartments in addition to the main house. i have staff lined up who are very excited about the dream, as i am.
isn't that a cool niche market?
but i'm so stuck on the name, which i need to get started.
help please? i'm going in circles here!

oh i hadn't even thought of using a horse related word! i was totally stuck on vermont-private farm home-supported independence---???
it's gotta be something short, smart and rememberable and tells what i do, so an equines term is appropriate.
does the word farm also mean horses to you?
as in 'homeplace farm' for instance?
or should i go with 'homeplace acres'?
and how do i worm the word vermont in there? or should i even try?
argh.... this is hard!

I like homeplace farm of Vermont :-)
You could also think of what sort of offerings you have to the clients.
Stability
independence
security
guidance/guiding
future
reliability.....
and incorporate one of those words?
MrB's attempt at talking like a horse person, "We'll be entering in the amateur hunter-gatherer division...."

like
vermont independence farm
or maybe i can find a word which suggests independence, stability, supportive rural lifestyle and get an equine reference in there also.
but not too woowoo, you know?

still working on it.
today i'm liking home sweet home vermont
and special haven homestead
any new thoughts? i'm really fleshing out my target audience (people with soon to be or already adult female children who wish to find a rural safe home for them where they can live the equestrienne lifestyle).
whew! a mouthful!
i know who they are, now i have to figure out how to reach them.
here's the vision---a home or homes populated by healthy adult women who for reasons of mild intellectual disability are not able to live alone.
i aim to provide a home and community with daily access to a horse. preferably their own horse.
i can do horse shows if they like, or trail riding and camping, or just daily horse care if that's their thing.
i have some great people excited to work with me in a few different capacities, and have some great contacts set up, so once i figure out the name i can get started with business cards, the website and advertising.
have the state application for residential homes mostly done too.
