Import brokers for Ireland
Hey all!
Fingers crossed I finally found a double dilute stallion prospect Connemara!! Now while I wait on the results of his grey test, I am looking into the shipping aspect.
Would be from Ireland to Canada (happy to go to the US then pick up from there... No problem. Ideally NY.
Any comments, recommendations etc? And what is the ballpark $$? I've heard anywhere from $3600 to $9000...
Pony in question is a weanling.
Thanks so much!

Could you tell me the breeding? I got a quote 3 years ago of € 7200 per horse clearing QT in NY and all fees. For the life of me I can't remember the company but they were American based. I find it's best to get a quote with everything in. No point in just getting flight price. I also had minimal sales tax as these were my personal horses.
You could try Peden over here. They are very good.
Best of luck. I have a client with a gorgeous well bred buckskin filly by Gwennic De Goariva out of a Westside Mirah mare. Hoping he breeds her to a dilute down the line. But has the Connie society started registering double dilutes?

I would try Nicholas on Long Island ,,,we pick up at the qt quite often,,our farm is 20 mins away. We picked up 5 there yesterday, three went on to rigby farm for CEM testing, and two weanlings went right to buyer. If you need a layover after the 72 hour, awaiting CA shipper, let me know, or if you need help with a Canadian shipper,,we will only haul to the portal.

James at Pedens. They used to use Mersant on this side. I have imported 5 using Pedens and have always been happy with the service.

By "our" you mean Canadian or ICPS? I thought ACPS still didn't allow the double dilutes.

Sorry, Janet, keep forgetting to answer your facebook message! I used Eddie Brennan, Ltd. Ask for Oliver Cooper, tell him I sent you Shipping costs will probably vary widely from what I paid, because I had my three on the last FedEx trip. I was quoted around $4500 for one weanling, and I shipped three for $11,000. This included the trucking from the airport to the quarantine facility, but not trucking from quarantine to our farm. It was $2500 for the two and half day quarantine in the US. Although I believe those costs have gone up as of October 1st.
Fingers crossed for you!!

The Canadian Society allow double dilute stallions and mares to be registered. ACPS only allows mares and geldings.

Has anyone with the Canadian Society tried to get a DD Colt Approved yet? I know that they will accept them but will you be the first to try?

Yes I meant dd stallions are not allowed. I had someone ask me about standing one, but I told her ACPS won't approve the stallion.
