Those fruitbatting ads lock things up tight here, not possible to wait for the damned close button to show up, as it never does. Have to close the browser and start over

They are annoying enough on the computer, but much worse on my phone. The font change is very user-unfriendly. I hope they can be toned down somehow.

Yes, Adblock is safe, its an add on to your firefox browser (not ie). If you understand the firefox add ons, you can get adblock easily. If you don't understand them, go to tools options and navigate to the add ons page, or google firefox add ons. they are only software extentions to the firefox software. There is nothing unsafe about them.
I personally think its safer to block the ads altogether than have something pop up intruding on my work and asking me to click on an unknown link asking me to spend money.

I just got one for a truck on my phone. When I tried to zoom in to find the close X, the ad would double in size and would continually center itself on my screen so that I couldn't scroll over and find the x.
Zoomed out I couldn't see the x. Zoomed in, it took up half my screen and I could only see the center of the ad.
They are irritating bc even zoomed out a quarter of my small phone screen is blocked and sometimes wheni scroll the ad ends up staying in the middle of my screen rather than the bottom.

As several people have said, this is not an option for all. Some cannot download it at work. I am not sure these can be used on phones. Some would like other ads or want COTH to get money for the ads so don't want to download ad blockers. Some have had issues with ad blockers in the past.
So it isn't the ads as much as THESE ads.

ahhhhh i was browsing COTH on my iphone and NOW i see what folks are irratated over - those ads SUCK! they take up most of the screen enlarge/shrink/etc anytime you try to navigate around them.
COTH - my suggestion would be to go back to the regular ads - if anyone is like me - i would NEVER buy from a company that uses those kinds of annoying ads!

Yabbut aren't we talking to the Mods because COTH purchased this new species of annoying ads as opposed to the old ones to which we have all adapted?
Does your adblocking stuff block all ads? If so, y'all are killing off all ad species-- good and bad-- and then there will be no organic matter farther up on the food chain for us to read.
Did you follow all that?

Yes, so I would think that the mods, the staff at COTH selling ads, and the other advertisers would care greatly that some of us who have, in the past, not only clicked through but bought things because of sidebar/banner ads (which for the record I do not mind at all, and kind of miss seeing when I'm surfing at home), have now blocked everything because of poor advertising choices by a few. So not only am I not going to patronize John Deere, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dodge, or the state of Michigan ( ) because of the pop-ups, other retailers that I would and have buy from, like SmartPak and BoB, are also losing out, because I won't see their ads. I'd think that would get someone on it ASAP.
