Picked up this classy girl at a very low level auction last night. She has been a broodie for several years and had a decent racing career in California. She was born in Ireland and I am not familiar with the lines there (other then Northern Dancer). Can anyone help determine if there is sport potential in her bloodlines? This is all well proven British TB pedigree for sport...short of the Northern Dancer. ND is common everywhere in the world and this seems like a quite undistinguished son of ND. The best is Tudor Melody(3 times), Grey Sovereign(2x), and Princely Gift though they are both common in British and Irish pedigrees. Love the pedigree of So Kind with Welsh Pageant and Sauceboat. Just made a connection. In her sire line, the stallion Mansingh, sired a stallion Langata Express who was approved by numerous warmblood associations. He's seen as a damsire in a few nice horses of both disciplines, like the Hohenstaufen brothers, and Concept II.

Branscomb has a Concept II mare, Sonnengirl, in sport who I believe has had a number of embryo transfers.

Mansingh came from the same TB family 10 as Kris S (closely) and Laudanum. Ask me how I know

Who actually appears to be very similarly bred to your new mare. Petardia/Classic Secret as well. How cool is that?

My mare shares the same damline as Mansingh/Kris S/Laudanum, so I've looked into it quite thoughly

Her photos break my heart-- what a kind, kind eye she has. You can tell she is special, and she just screams "quality" even in her condition. I'll definitely have to meet her!

Petardia's 4th dam, a mare named Abelia, is by Abernant out of the mare Queen of Peru, who birthed the KWPN approved stallion Pericles. Probably one of the nicest thoroughbred sporthorse stallions you can think of. Abernant sired the prolific stallion Abgar.

So Petardia's sire line has produced approved stallions, and his damline has produced approved stallions. Surprised we haven't seen him more!

Second damsire Kind of Hush sired a stallion Itsabrahma who appears to be approved in Denmark?

Petardia's damsire Mummy's pet seems to have produced some nice sporthorses as well.

This Mummy's Pet mare Petsaria (full TB) produced a 1.40m horse by Jalisco B and a 1.60m horse by Bolero de Brecey. The former, a stallion named Lester Vador, stood in the Ukraine.

But Laudanum comes from the very rare branch back to Queenie. This line is Famous for jumping. Vieux Manoir is also from this branch. As is Quarantaine, Battleship's dam.

One of Abelia's daughters was the dam of the H.I.S stallion Saunter, who just happens to be the sire of Winsome Adante. And a horse who went to the 1990 WEG for Sweden. Also sire of a mare with the most unusual name--Woolpit Waddle--who was the dam of Andrew Nicholson's horse Silbury Hill. All eventers.

Thank you for clarifying-- Mansingh, Kris S & my mare's damline(dam is Chalk mark) "connect" to Laudanum's only at Queen Mary herself.

Mansingh, Kris S, & Chalk Mark "connect" at Feale Bridge. Mansingh & Kris S share the same granddam, Bridgework, who was Occupy x Feale Bridge. My mare comes from another Feale Bridge daughter, this one by Djeddah.

Chalk Mark was one of The Oaks' top producers in the 90's.
