Default Weird Sore on My Neck

I think I got bit by something at the barn on Sunday and now I have this weird sore on my neck.

In the middle is a scabby red ulcer that is white in the middle but not like a pimple/whitehead. Around that is about a 1/2" of normal flesh and then there is a second red ring around the sore. It itches, but isn't hot or really sore. It looks terrible though.

What could have caused this and should I be concerned?

Jingles! That doesn't sound right, I agree... is there any way you can get to see a doctor? Could you have been bitten by a brown recluse? They are supposedly really bad this year. Oh yeah, I agree with previous poster... sounds like a "bullseye" rash....

Sounds like the classic bullseye rash. Lyme isn't something to mess with so go to your doctor tomorrow or an urgent care clinic and have them take a look. Most likely they will start you on antibiotics if it is in fact a deer tick bite.

If you start the medication early you are less likely to have problems. It happened to me. Went to the urgent care clinic the next day and they said yeah, it's the bullseye rash, so they started me on antibiotics right then and there. Never developed any problems. That's often how it is when you treat it early.

Bull's-eye mark? Maybe a tick bite that should be looked at right away?

Here I attached a picture. It doesn't look like the tick bites I've looked at online... The picture is crappy (taken with a cell phone.)

That looks similar to what I had and the doctor said it was a deer tick bite. Go get checked out tomorrow.

    Grrrr...

Thanks SnicklefritzG. Do you remember what antibiotics they started you on?

I think it was Doxycycline. The only side effect I experienced was stomach ache, but that just made it so I was less inclined to eat. Fine by me since I needed help with me diet. lol.

You want to keep clear of Lyme tick disease! Go to the doctor ASAP and take their medication.

Oh, yes, that sure looks like a Lyme rash!! If you have to get bit by a Lyme carrying deer tick, you are actually fortunate that it is so obvious...starting antibiotics right away is important. Many people don't get the rash and it takes a long time to be diagnosed and are miserable.
