You know what's really neat too - is that we have had SO many lurkers on this thread, that decided to become "members" and their first posts on the COTH board are on this thread!
Welcome to all of you and so nice of you to join the party in the cyber waiting room!
Believe me - it is truly an honor to be an auntie or uncle to Aiden!

Good morning little lion! Hoping you spent a great deal of the night in your mom and dad's arms! I am sure it was like the night you were first born, when all they could do was just look at you and hold you and marvel over you! You are so cute Aiden that it's illegal! I am so happy that he is breathing on his own! It is truly a happy and healthy New Year!

Go Aiden!
I've been off the board for a few days except to check for updates, due to family holiday upheaval (four people throwing up from the flu at once is definitely upheaval!). Kept on praying and jingling through it all, though. So glad to hear Aiden is doing so well. Hope Lisa and Joey are getting some well deserved rest now. What a great start for the new year!

quote:
Stranger Donates Kidney For 5-Year-Old
Man Says His Faith Told Him To Help
POSTED: 7:59 a.m. CST January 3, 2003
UPDATED: 9:42 a.m. CST January 3, 2003
MADISON (WI) -- A 5-year old girl is scheduled to undergo a kidney transplant this morning at University of Wisconsin Hospital.
The kidney is a gift from a total stranger.
The parents of Angela Rushford placed an ad in a Rockford newspaper saying their daughter needed a kidney.
David Harper answered the call, saying he had always planned to donate his organs after his death.
"She's got her whole life to go, I mean, my life is half over, but she's 4 years old," he said. "She's got at least 70 years. Why not let her enjoy a long healthy life?"
He says his faith called him to help the little girl.
"I've never met anyone to do this just for us -- out of love and everything to help our daughter, he's the greatest," Angela's mom, Betty Rushford, said.
Harper said he never read the Rock River Times before seeing the ad.

What wonderful news! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif My curb chain has been jingling away, and I have explained to lots of people what it is and why I am wearing it, taking the opportunity to ask for more healing thoughts for Aiden and to remind people of the importance of organ donation.
I am so glad that this precious child will get his own *regular* room http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif -- and I am so in awe of the family's strength and the obvious community formed by all the wonderful people here.

Woohooo!!!
Hey! Tell them you want a room closer to the ground floor... which is closer to the lobby; which is closer to the front door.... and the parking lot...... and your car......
Which would be one step closer to getting your Little Lionheart outta there!
