    Default Alberta Eventers

I evented in Alberta as a kid and into my early teens, I eventually switched to jumpers as it was a better fit for my horse at the time. After doing the "A" shows for several years, I sold my jumper and got a greenie and for the last little while, I haven't been showing much at all.

I am wanting to try eventing again with my green mare. I board at a H/J barn right now, and none of the trainers have experience in eventing or dressage, and it just isnt possible for me to get to an event from where I am. I have been out of the "eventing loop" for so long that I don't know who is out there in terms of coaching in the event world. I am in Calgary, and looking for a barn and trainer in the area.

I am wondering where Alberta eventers ride, and where I should start my search. Any help would be great!

I am not much help, but I believe Sandra Donnelly is near Calgary (Alborak stables I think?) - she was on the Olympic team in 2008. She seems very nice & down to earth, and has produced her own horses which I think speaks well to her training ability.

If you aren't busy this weekend its the Alhambra (Red Deer) summer event. That maybe a good way to meet people and a great way to get an eventing fix!!
