I think I remember what that clear cool liquid coming from the sky is!! Got almost 3/4 inch over night...of course temps in the 90's today will dry it all up, but the thrill was noted by the horses this morning as they romped around their pastures. Even the blades of grass are celebrating. There was even a puddle when I walked the dogs this morning. Of course "summer" is just beginning and it may never rain again til fall, but it is nicer today - not 108++. Hope others got the goods, too.
As usual the the weatherman lied...it went to 105 today and all the precious rain was evaporated by 10 am!!! Oh well...it washed the dust off the grass. The horses were froggie for a few minutes, but retired to the shade. I thought I could tolerate the heat better than the cold (that was in Feb)...now I'm rethinking. It has been BLOODY hot and it's only early July - the best is yet to come!! My horses have forgotten that they are supposed to be ridden!! NOT at this temp!!
