    Default button braids

    We are going to our first dressage show, actually our horse is and my trainer is riding him. I am from the H/J world and I know how to do hunter braids but how do you do button braids..Someone?

    go to the link above and if you scroll down you'll see a post regarding button braiding. But unless you practice before hand it might be easier to find a braider, IME... it can be tricky if your not used to it.

    I do not want to spend a lot of money it is a local show but I would like him to look his best. I wish I knew somone in my area that could do ti and show me how too!

    that is a great video, very descriptive and you can see everything.

    I would like to note that the current trend in dressage is toward less buttons however. I believe this was recently talked about here on COTH, and it was something like that the upper level guys seem to sport something between 7-13 buttons? Not that that is a "must" or anything, but I guess, if we're all trying to be fashionable

    (though... I have NO IDEA how I'd try to get 7 into my guy's mane without it looking like a total wreck!)
