    Default Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion

Anyone out there had this surgery?

And if you did, was the bone harvested from the iliac crest or was BMP2 and a collagen sponge used?

I'm referring to Anterior surgery; no pedicle screws used. Just a cage, bone and/or BMP2 and the collagen sponge.

    Thanks so much.

I had posterior fusion twice - the first time they took bone from the iliac crest. My back was healed well before the area where they harvested the bone stopped hurting.

The second time they used a block of cadaver bone. Much quicker recovery.
