What is actually in Magic Cushion?
Anybody know?
As I try to get a patch of it unstuck from the teenie tiny little hairs on my left arm.

100% pure fantastic.
No clue what's really in it. I have a tub in the barn and am about to head back down there... will have a look to see if anything's listed but that stuff is amazing!

The active ingredient is capsacian. There is also venice turpentine and who knows what else. GREAT stuff!

How do you really use it? I read the old threads about putting some on paper and then leaving the paper on the hoof (and then some people wrap with vet wrap/duck tape). To get it back out of the hoof, do you just pull the paper off? Let it come off in turnout? Pick it out with a hoof pick?

I have used it as you described. Have also had a farrier pack it under leather pads under a shoe. Amazing stuff. Truly one of the only horse products that live up to its reputation.
Regarding getting it back off: a lot of it comes off with the paper. The rest can usually be scraped free with a hoof pick, and what little is left seems to fall off naturally in turnout. On one occasion where I needed to get the foot really clean of the magic cushion, I used rubbing alcohol and it scrubbed the magic cushion right off.

Rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol or nail polish remover(acetone) will get it off your hair or skin.

turpentine works. Also useful for thinning it out if it gets too solid.

Capsaicin and turpentine.
Don't worry, you'll not turn into a werewolf!
However owners ought to be very cautious of using products that they don't know the ingredients and particularly if they're going to do anything vaguely competitive with the horse.
Capsaicin is a banned substance. Got 4 (?maybe more?) horses thrown out of the 2008 Olympics.

Love the stuff! I think it's venice turpentine, plus some magic stuff in leather shavings.
