Sylvia’s Prelude http://www.pedigreequery.com/sylvias+prelude
Purchased in Sept from Leighton Farm. Owner did not click with this horse and had him listed for sale when he got kicked in the hock at New Year’s. Because the surgeon felt certain the horse would heal from the surgery to remove the chips, owner proceeded with surgery. This horse will require several months of layup care and the owner is not equipped to handle this, nor can she afford to pay for a lay up facility beyond what she has already done. Prelude has been an exceptional patient and is easy to handle in the stall and on the ground despite being on stall rest for over a month. He is very sweet and wants to please. He will make a fun and easy re-training project for someone once he has healed.
Here is video of him prior to his injury. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjUxD...eature=related
According to the vet this horse will recover and be sound to do what I had bought him to do, which is lower level eventing. I just can't manage his care as I have another one on stall rest and a third to get back into work and find a home for. I never really clicked with him undersaddle. He's awesome on the ground and a very sweet personality and will make someone a once in a lifetime horse. I'm just not that person.
