    Default Quote of the day

I called the hay man to tell him that some of the bales of alfalfa he brought me were moldy. Really moldy like they looked like they were on fire there was so much moldy "smoke" coming out of them when I opened it up. He tried to argue that is was just surface dust but I assured him that I know the difference between mold and dust. That is when he busted out this line: ask any vet, they will tell you that mold is nothing but penicillin so its good for them! Nice...

I have been buying hay from him for almost a decade. He always makes good on his hay even if he does have some wacky beliefs.

Wow, he must think you are pretty damn gulliable.

When I first saw your thread I thought I could add a 'quote of the day' (a funny quote at that) but with that one, I can't top it.

    LOL...gotta love the old timer-isms.

Tell him thanks for the info, but your horses are all allergic to penicillin.

Did you tell him penicillin grows on oranges? Not on hay?

    Good heavens.
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.

Might be a reason, never an excuse...

Now that's a great idea and make sure it's on a dirty plate because why wash them when they just get dirty again.
