Where to start looking for a new horse
I'm on the hunt to buy another horse. My budget is pretty low. I'm probably going to end up with a horse off the track. Are there any other places to look since Canter Mid-Atlantic and PA have nothing on there right now?

I'm looking for a horse under 3000 which means I have to get something green. 16.1+ and one that will be sound for 3ft either hunter or jumper. I also want something a little bit on the lazier side that can wake up when I ask it to.

New Jersey. Not looking to travel farther then one state each direction and not farther then 2 hours into Wester PA or Upstate NY. Don't care what breed but would prefer a TB or Warmblood or any cross Like Warmblood/Draft as long as it's not to heavy. I would prefer a mare but gelding is fine. I want something between 4-7

I just finished horse shopping with similar specs. If you want, I would happy to pass along the "good" of what I found in my search (the good I didn't buy, anyway). Email me if you'd like vxf111 @ yahoo.com

I know that at Philadelphia Racetrack they have a new adoption program where the adoption is free and you just give a donation to the program. Maybe you may want to try that. You never know, maybe you will be able to get a great horse.

The folks at MidAtlantic Horse Rescue are excellent horsewomen and they do a great job. Good luck with your quest-be sure to show and tell when you find the Right One!
