I know that you absolutely cannot use the dog version on cats - but can I use the feline Frontline on a dog?

All my Googling turns up Dog > Cat, but nothing about vice-versa.

We did...just last week. No ill effects, although dog is still scratching somewhat. I have not seen any fleas though, so maybe she just has itchy skin.

I have the spray on Frontline, for use with horses. I just put some on a cat that turned up at the barn with fleas. The label says for use with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Don't know if it is the same stuff you get in the snap-open packets . . .

Frontline(and Advantage) are the ONLY products that are safe to be used on both. The dog version can be put on cats in the correct amount, and the cat version is safe for dogs. Again, in the correct amount in order to be effective, but that is the only difference between the 'cat' and 'dog' versions, as well as the diff sizes for dogs.

Good - just read that the only ingredient in both cat and dog is Fipronil, so I am not going to poison anyone. Thanks!

I had a Vet provide the dosage for Frontline, Advantage and Revolution (this one covers heartworm also) for both cats and dogs. Its best to buy the large dog size and use on both!
