rohdiamant x fidermark - wonders do happen...
i didn't dare to believe in it anymore:
after years i finally decided to breed my younger fidermark http://www.hippologi.com/FannieMaeengl.htm to rohdiamant for all the reasons this true stamp stallion deserves recognition:
it took six heat cycles and when i picked her up from the stallion station last time in july i really didn't expect anymore from it... it simply wasn't meant to be, i was sure and i had already made arrangements for her to move over to my riding barn here in münster in october once her sir donnerhall filly is being weaned so i would get to train and ride her until next ears beginnigng of the new breeding season.
but every once in a while wonders do seem to happen:
last night we had a little party at my mare barn owner and she handed out champain to each of us saying:
we have something to celebrate!
(i had no clue what she was talking about as i hadn't even asked for the vet to check my mare anymore on her 18 days ultra sound since i was sure it would be useless anyway) - she goes:
raise your glasses!
fannie mae is in foal to rohdiamant!
what a wonderful way to communicate such news!
and since everybody at the party knew about my rohdi-frustration for teh last months it sure was the nicest thing to celebrate - what a party!
wonders do happen...
good luck for anybody else out there waiting&hoping for their mare to still have it happen: hope should always be the last thing to let die :-)

Congratulations on your Rohdiamont pregnancy!
I left my mare in Germany for two years before finally getting her in foal to Rohdiamont. We had a beautiful colt this year to show for the effort. Wish it had been a filly, but he is very nice anyway. Wish I could send her back to try again.
