Quarterback offspring and temperments...
Ok, so after learning that my orphan mare should make a good mom, I'm dying to breed her to Quarterback in the spring. What can y'all tell me about his progeny's temperments?

so far, not so much as they arent under saddle yet. He comes from a very good minded line, ( any Qs- not Quidam, but Quattro) I have seen just want to do the right thing) and the babies seem to be nice to have around. So far, so good!

Absolutely incredible temperament!! Sweetest foal we have ever had, now how much comes from her sweet dam, by Contucci, I don't know. We are very pleased with the conformation, bone, and outstanding movement and can't wait to breed again in the spring. The mare has fabulous movement as did her dam, so we are very pleased with the outcome. May breed another mare to Quaterback next year also. Very pleased to say the least. Be sure you like your mare because the foal MAY be a lot more like your mare than the stallion. JMHO FWIW

Liking the mare is not a problem. She's the sweetest thing on four legs, along with having outstanding movement. Keep 'em coming folks, thanks.

His foals are not old enough to be evaluated under saddle, so the tractability and temperament of his offspring as riding horses are not known at this time.

My Quaterback colt is rather "spicey" Really sweet, sensitive and smart, smart, smart! Dam is the most laid back sensible mare around, so I think this may have come from doubling up on the Bolero a few generations back (Bolero is present in both my mare and Quaterback's pedigree). This colt is the least like his dam of any of her foals. He strongly resembles his sire in every way. At his AHS inspection Ludwig Christmann said this colt is very much like his father, except he has inherited his Dam's "8" walk. He was named top foal and a stallion prospect. We are thilled with him! His inspection photo is on my webpage under "news".

Railmom - After seeing your colt at the inspection I think I will breed my Donnerhall mare to Quarterback. Your colt is absolutely gorgeous and moves like a dream. I was very impressed with him

I don't mean to be rude to anyone, but is he Quaterback or QuaRterback?
I keep seeing it spelled both ways.

Quaterback is correct but Americans just automatically see Quarterback. Hmmm... wonder why?

I was referring to the country's favorite sport (seems like) football, most people would make that mistake here because of that.

Oh my, I had always just automatically read it as "QuaRterback". Thanks for pointing that out. Amazing how your brain can transpose letters.

Just a quick little clarification about Quaterback - he does not "stand" at Sosath's. He lives, trains and beeds at the Haupt Gestuet Brandenburg. Sosath's is a "semen station"; i.e. they regularly make the cooled semen shipments to Sosath's for distribution/inseminatoiin in that part of Germany.
And , it's QWAH' - ter - back
