Non Samber lines WB stallion, Europe or USA

With no sucess in breeding my mare I have purchased an amazing buckskin pinto RPSI filly out of a mare that VERY much reminds me of my lovely mare. Sentimental aside I would like to plan a breeding next spring to one of the lovely mares from this farm, however I am trying my darndest to find a stallion with no Samber lines. My filly will be bred eventually but she has Samber from her dam. I would love to have something else in my program that will help add to the coloured WB lines out there that offers a great outcross but does not sacrifice quality in the process. I did look over the 2004 thread with the same question but many of those stallions are no longer available. I cant wait to here what you all have to say!!

I am a little confused. There are TONS of stallions out there with no Samber in the pedigree.

Or are you looking for a non-Samber PINTO WB stallion?

Based on that I'm guessing they're looking for a spotted (non-App) WB without the Samber lines...

Late to the discussion...however.....
It is quite difficult to find quality warmbloods without Samber in the pedigree.
I breed for tobiano pintos and have searched high and low.Chess M was exported to Australia...and unfortunately died there. There may be a few doses of his frozen left in Germany.
Basic issue is while some registries like ZfDP, KWPN RPSI and Trakehner do allow tobiano coloring ... some do not. Few breeders have tobiano breeding stock.....so few stallions go to the testing.
I am looking at frozen from the UK for next year...but those have Samber several generations back.
I have a young mare by Sempatico out of a Swedish mare who is in foal to Freestyle for 2013...but even IF I get a tobiano colt (50% tobiano..50% colt=25% tobiano colt) <smile>the cost of raising a stallion prospect and of sending him to the 70 day test is a very daunting prospect....even IF the colt is the quality to warrant that.
Look for a stallion that has Samber 3 to 4 generatons back and out crosses on the other lines.

I have a nice mare sired by him- she didn't get any "bont" however- she's grey not pinto but your mare might pass enough bont (pinto) for everybody.

Spectrum actually has one ancestor.... Tina D who is Samber’s dam.
Spectrum used to be owned by Liz Hall of Silverwood Farm... however he was sold some years ago and seem to disappear. Not sure if he was gelded or just not standing to the public. He did not do the 70 day test…or 100 it would have been then I believe.
In the UK the is Umeno by Wellington out of a Samber mare he is sold to South Africa but then is frozen in the UK for N America. And Samaii who is by Sambertino, a Samber son out of a Brentano II mare…available frozen in NA

Also Palliadio stands in WA state…RPSI and 70 day tested. His dam is a Samber daughter.
Palliado has a son at the current 70 day test as well.

Pinto power, yes my filly is from BCF, her dam is Princess Vera. I am looking into using one of their TB's hence the searching for a stud. I have nothing against Samber and as you have mentioned and I am finding more and more evidance for is that the reason he was such a foundation horse was because of the quality!

:yes: Glad you are avoiding Samber lines. I was very unhappy with my gelding's temperament by Samber!

Good luck with your decision on which stallion to use. It all depends on which qualities you want to add to the table. :winkgrin:

I have a Fuhler I(Samber) mare and she has a lovely agreeable "I aim to please" temperament....a friend of mine has a 1/2 brother (by Fuhler I out of an Arkansas mare) who is very laid back and quite athletic.
Samber himself when he went through the 100 day test got 10 for temperament I believe.
Of course there is the dam side of things...and every horse is a unique combination of genetics, environmental influences and training.
I know Palliadio who has a Samber dam line has a very mellow trainable temperament.
Each horse is different to some extent.

I knew he went to Australia....but he died? What happened? That is just too bad....I had really hoped he would have a chance to be bred to some really nice mares.

All of the sambers I have seen have had a great temp. Maybe it was the mare side or previous handling. The mare in question is a close samber relation that is why she is trying for a different line not because of grapevine music

:yes: I agreed with you regarding to my gelding's temperament from dam line. Maybe the dutch breeder was hoping to bring Samber's "10" temperament to the table. My ex-gelding didn't get his colors, too. But boy, my horse had lovely gaits. Now, back to wicked1's question. I was wrong to bring up ALL riders' issues with my ex-horse. :(

Chess M died April 2012. He was owned at the time by Kenlock Park Stud in Australia. They say he had a "blood clot in his brain"..
Great loss to both that breeding farm and other breeders, as he was a great outcross for Samber lines. Homozygous for tobiano as well!
